The National Museum of Fine Arts of Havana (MNBA), holds an important collection of art from Great Britain, which includes paintings, drawings and engravings. A part of this collection (52 paintings), is exhibited in the Permanent Halls from a careful selection of the best oil pieces that, in their museum display, allow the visitor to value the set of all the exhibited works based on their aesthetics, which made this School one of the most influential in Europe from the 18th century.
Currently, the MNBA's British art collection consists of 220 works. It is a very coherent and homogeneous set, since practically all the art pieces that compose it are signed by the most important artists of the School, such as Allan Ramsay, Joshua Reynolds, Thomas Gainsborough, Thomas Lawrence or John Constable, among others. In addition, all the genres that cultivated and distinguished British painters, draftsmen and engravers are represented.
